Random House India and MSN are on a mission to seek and find budding Indian women writers and their tales. There is, after all, a story just waiting to be told inside all women. Which is why we are inviting women writers in India to pick up the pen and shake loose the story inside with the 'MSN-Random House She: Write a Story' contest. 12 winning short stories will be published in a collection by Random House India in autumn 2012.
You can participate in the 'MSN-Random House She: Write a Story' contest if you are a woman of Indian origin, residing in India and of the age of 18 or above as on 1st January 2012. You need to submit a story of length not more than 5000 words on any one of the following topics:
a.
Woman in the City
'Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn' - Gone With the Wind

Growing up in India

c.
The Man in my Life
'Being with him made her feel as though her soul had escaped from the narrow confines of her island country into the vast, extravagant spaces of his.' - The God of Small Things
You must incorporate one of the quotes that are given with each topic somewhere in your story. Needless to say, the stories submitted must be original, unpublished and your sole work.
